Digital accessibility: ECIO workshops at NCDTO 2025

On November 20, 2025, the very first National Congress on Digital Accessibility in Education will take place in Utrecht. ECIO is hosting two interactive workshops for reflection and concrete tools to get started yourself.
Purpose of the workshops
The workshops are designed specifically for education professionals who want to integrate digital accessibility into both policy and daily practice. Whether you work on online communication, educational development or inclusion policy, these workshops offer inspiration, practical insights and space for exchange.
Workshop 1: Why it matters. Experience the impact of inaccessibility
In this workshop you will step into the shoes of different users. With scenarios and personas you experience what digital inaccessibility means in practice and how it can be done differently. The working form is inspired by Universal Design for Learning (UDL), but focused on digital accessibility. This experiential game helps you become aware of the barriers that others (invisibly) encounter, and shows how accessible design works for everyone. You’ll go home with awareness and concrete insights for action.
Workshop 2: How then? And with whom? Getting started with ownership and assurance.
In this in-depth session, you’ll explore the force field around digital accessibility within your own organization. Who do you need? Where are the opportunities? What are possible obstacles? You will literally map this out with a creative work form. The goal: gaining insight into how you work together on sustainable accessibility and what is needed to ensure this, also in the long term.
