With practical tools such as a self-assessment and an explanatory webinar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who is it intended for?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The model is for policymakers, administrators and project teams in secondary schools, colleges and universities who want to embed student welfare in policy, culture and organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">More about the StepChange model<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mental health is under pressure. Stress, mental workload and psychologically related complaints of students and staff continue to increase. A structured approach is needed to further prevent study delay and dropout and to ensure a pleasant and safe study climate. How to develop an institution-wide policy and vision in which mental health is central? The Stepchange framework supports this.    <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stepchange as a source of inspiration<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With newly gained insights, the Stepchange has been relaunched as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sustainabilityexchange.ac.uk\/files\/universities_uk-stepchange-mhu.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Stepchange: Mentally Healthy Universities<\/a>. A framework for strategic approaches for integrated policies around student and staff mental health. StepChange supports students and staff for an institution-wide approach to mental health. StepChange zooms in on student wellbeing from various aspects and contributes to an integral policy and vision development and implementation. The approach touches four domains within education: learning, working, counseling and living. In doing so, there are five central themes that support an institution-wide approach: leadership, co-production, information, inclusion and research &amp; innovation.     <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Application of StepChange in education<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Any college or university can apply StepChange to its own organization. Also view the <a href=\"http:\/\/kennisbankstudentenwelzijn.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/uuk-self-assessment-tool-stepchange.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">self-assessment tool.<\/a>  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Development process of the StepChange framework<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The StepChange framework was developed by several institutions in the UK, under the banner of Universities UK. ECIO is working with them to bring the strategic approach to wide attention in Dutch education. StepChange was previously launched as the University of Bristol&#8217;s UK &#8216;<g id=\"gid_0\">flower model<\/g>&#8216; and at the time was the inspiration for the <g id=\"gid_1\">National Network on Student Wellbeing<\/g>; the network set up in 2019 for hbo\/wo and facilitated by ECIO.
