Inclusive internships ensure that they too &#8211; like their fellow students &#8211; can participate fully.   <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is an inclusive internship?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An inclusive internship is a learning workplace within professional practice where every student has the opportunity to develop regardless of background, disability or personal circumstances. The work environment adapts to the student &#8211; not the other way around. There is a focus on accessibility, guidance, communication and mutual understanding.    <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">For whom is it important?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Inclusive internships are essential for students who experience barriers due to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A physical, sensory or mental disability<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>chronic illness or recovery from long-term symptoms<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>informal care responsibilities, young parenthood or other special circumstances<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>neurodivergence such as ADHD or autism<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>an unsafe or inaccessible social climate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What does this require of education and employers?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An inclusive internship practice requires cooperation and coordination between educational institutions and internship providers.
