This working group aims to further shape inclusive VET, including actively involving students with support needs. In 2022, the first step for this was taken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why participate?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Participation gives you the opportunity to work with other VET institutions to achieve inclusive education and improve studyability for all students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a member of the working group, you can:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Actively contribute to improving accessible education at your institution<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Share knowledge about successful initiatives and best practices<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop solutions to challenges around accessibility and inclusion<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Benefit from training and guidance on the implementation of policies and actions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The working group meets three times a year to learn from each other and move forward together. ECIO facilitates and supports the meetings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Goals of the UN treaty working group<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The working group strives for inclusiveness in the VET, translating the <a href=\"https:\/\/wetten.overheid.nl\/BWBV0004045\/2016-07-14#Verdrag_2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">UN Convention on Disability<\/a> into educational practice. The focus is on the following key themes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>curriculum flexibility: room for customized and adapted instruction for diverse students<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>information literacy: accessible communication and resources for all students<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>internationalization: inclusive education in international contexts and exchange programs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>transition to the labor market: preparing students for internship and employment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, the working group is focusing on the following inclusion topics:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>digital and physical accessibility<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>student participation: active involvement of all students in their learning.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>accessible testing and examination: providing fair testing opportunities for all students<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Policy and ownership: Ensure the implementation of inclusive policies within institutions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who is the working group for?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The national working group UN convention VET is intended for everyone involved in improving accessible education and implementing the UN convention within VET and who have signed the <a href=\"https:\/\/ecio.nl\/en\/tool\/declaration-of-intent-un-convention-on-disability\/\">declaration of intent UN convention Handicap<\/a> or intend to do so in the near future.
